Gemma Trattoria is an Italian restaurant located on the ground floor of The Bowery Hotel at 335 Bowery in Manhattan. It was a perfect location as I was heading out to a local theater.

I inadvertently entered the Bowery Hotel, which houses the restaurant. The Gemma Trattoria entrance is on the southeast corner of Bowery and East 3rd St.

Here are sidewalk views.

What to order? I read that Chef Andrea Taormina creates rustic, seasonal cuisine and pairs it with an extensive Italian wine list. I also noticed the fabulous wood-fired pizza oven. Many patrons were visibly enjoying their pizza!

It was 12:30 on the Brunch menu. I kept it simple and healthy with the Avocado Toast with radishes, roasted sunflower seeds, and less Maldon Salt (premium all-natural sea salt with a fresh taste and no bitterness). Included were two sliced hard-boiled eggs.

A friendly neighbor ordered the Bowery Burger, cooked to perfection with the salad option.

My meal was fabulous. The bread was a deliciously and heavily crusted grain product, and the avocado puree was divine. The roasted sunflower seeds and lightly shredded radishes were an unbelievably delightful combination.

As a matter of fact, I was so impressed with this choice that I can’t wait to go back to have it again!

That’s about the highest compliment that I can pay to any restaurant! So check it out!

Royo delivered a resounding performance, transforming into over 12 characters experiencing the stages of alcoholism and its effects on each character’s interaction with himself and others. At times, it’s hard to tell who Man is, as his toxic masculinity dominates and elevates with the abuse of alcohol.

Tonight’s O How Good was a celebration of the life of MasterVoices board member Lois Conway and the years of philanthropy and insightful leadership characterizing her service. The venue chosen for this event was inspiring and magnificent and set in New York City’s Central Synagogue, a stunning example of Moorish Revival architecture and a testament to the beauty and richness of Jewish tradition and culture.
