The Quantum Leap Restaurant in Lenox Hill offers an amazing array of delicious, satisfying vegan and vegetarian menu choices, with fresh fish and chicken options. It was my third time dining there, so I write as a very happy, repeat customer.

This recent visit was on a steamy summer day when a friend and I were welcomed into a comfortable air-conditioned space surrounded by some cool jazz.

The service was courteous and attentive as tall glasses of cold water and menus appeared immediately. Economically welcoming was the $12 lunch menu from which we ordered. The portions were generous, beautifully prepared, and delicious. Living a vegan lifestyle for May and June, I often missed eating salmon.

Exactly as I like it

Today at Quantum Leap Restaurant in Lenox Hill was the day to return to having an occasional meal with fish, and I was not disappointed. The skinless serving of salmon was large, flaky, and cooked exactly as I like it–medium. The preparation and flavors were complemented by brown rice and perfectly steamed vegetables with a light citrus sauce. Learning how to make vegetables taste this good through simple steaming is now on my bucket list.

Delicious Pico de Gallo

My friend chose from the Vegan/Vegetarian side of the menu and enjoyed the Texan BBQ Seitan Pita and Soup Combo. The pita was stuffed with fresh, crunchy vegetables like lettuce, tomato, cucumber, cabbage, and carrots, along with the seitan and a delicious Pico de Gallo. It arrived with a generous bowl of Quantum Leap’s homemade carrot ginger dressing.  The side was a delightful, perfectly seasoned lentil soup.

Selected Shorts: Ken Burns Presents Willa Cather’s America

After the final reading, Burns remarked, “Let’s put Cather back on the Times Best Seller list. You will not be disappointed.” Not disappointed, the audience celebrated with a hearty round of applause for the brilliant performances of those who were onstage.

A Dark Winter May befall on America Once Again

COVID-19 deaths have continued to happen in the U.S. over the past few years. As winter approaches, COVID-19, unlike the influenza of 1918, is a coronavirus we still know little about. If you were preparing for war, you would know your enemy. Some experts claim a cure is close, but I believe there isn’t one yet. We must keep fighting this invisible enemy that is trying to destroy us.

Electric Lemon at Hudson Yards

The Electric Lemon restaurant is located at the top of the five-star Equinox Hotel in Hudson Yards. The rooftop bar boasts an 8,000-square-foot rooftop garden with a monumental Jaume Plensa sculpture. It overlooks the Hudson River and the city skyline. They possess a wide range of food and drinks, from light bites to seasonal offerings at dinner and rooftop brunch on the weekends. It’s open all year round because of the sleek and expansive dining room and fire-pits on the al fresco terrace.
