Pay close attention.
The first few minutes of a film that opens with intrigue, murder, adultery, and other human idiosyncrasies, accompanied by a beautiful macaw named BabyRainbow, will keep you glued to your seat.
Déjà vu, The Peril of Pauline is that type of movie. Written, directed, and starring award-winning superstar Cybela Clare, the movie is an intricately woven story that shifts back and forth between the present and the past, delving into the world of reincarnation and offering moments of pure hilarity with a bird who is a star in her own right.
Clare plays Cassie Cole, a Southern Dolly Parton-style crime blogger in the present day. Her therapist, Dr. Gerhardt Strauss (Herbert Gould), believes she is the reincarnation of French environmentalist Dr. Pauline Joubert, found murdered in Central Park in 1985. It was a murder that was never solved. Cole is determined to solve the case, even if it means putting her own safety at risk.

Joubert uncovered classified environmental secrets, and someone sent her French lover/hitman, Jean-Jacques (Charlie Bennet), to recover them. Did he intend to steal the documents or kill her? Time will reveal everything.
Strauss connects Cole with Joubert’s son, Pierre (Dana Watkins), another environmentalist. Together, they risk their lives to solve the mystery of who killed Pauline.
Filmed on location in New York City, the film’s visual style conveys a sense of drama and tension, ultimately establishing the film’s remarkable tone and storytelling.
Clare is a genius and has a natural knack for developing intriguing stories that expose human traits, both good and bad. See this movie and find out why.
