I continually hear former Northeasterners and Chicagoites asking for recommendations on where to find hot pastrami and rye bread, babka, and blintzes, like those served at the Second Avenue Deli in Manhattan. How about shish ka bob, pizza, pierogis, hand-rolled fresh pasta, bagels, and the like?
The Edison Ford Winter Estates and Museum are jewels of southwest Florida. The museum showcases memorabilia highlighting the successes of two of America’s industrialists, Thomas Edison and Henry Ford.
After leaving Bowland and Nemo’s Cafe, we crossed the parking lot and discovered Tropical Breeze Fun Park, home of the world’s longest hole. As a reporter on a mission to verify bold claims, we signed up for a round.
Cape Coral hosts many pleasant surprises. Some friends and I recently spent a pleasant evening at Nemo’s Sports Bistro at Bowland in Cape Coral. Along with a bowling alley brimming with activity, there is Nemo’s Cafe where diners can relax, play pool and darts, watch live sports, and order bar fare like drinks, wings, and pizza.
Rumrunners in Cape Coral fits the bill if you’re looking for harborside dining with outdoor seating options and a hearty seafood menu. They also host a wide selection of tropical drinks like their Mint Lemonade and Key Lime Colada.
Attentive and friendly serving staff brought fresh bread with olive oil and drinks almost immediately, seating was comfortable and quiet. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious.
Cuban food is a marvelous benefit of visiting South Florida. We’ve been to a few Cuban restaurants and keep returning to El Tropical in Cape Coral. They serve fresh, delicious fare and offer a large variety of authentic recipes. The staff is friendly and attentive and the service is excellent. Seating is homey and comfortable and local patrons rave about the selections, including those with a Cuban heritage .
Maytag Virgin gradually, elaborately, and poignantly unfolds in an assiduously crafted literary effusion. It’s a dreamscape in which we sense loss tempered by hope.
The Florida Rep stage was packed with rock n’ roll talent for their fabulous portrayal of The Buddy Holly Story and his songs that changed music forever!
